Ran Wei

Ran joined Qatalyst in March 2015. At Qatalyst, Ran focuses on Industrial Technology and the intersection of hardware, software and connectivity across technologies that include technical software, automation equipment, and testing, monitoring and sensing instruments. His transaction experience at Qatalyst includes Quantenna’s $1.1Bn sale to ON Semiconductor, NXP’s terminated $48.4B sale to Qualcomm, Weebly’s $365MM sale to Square, Viavi’s $455MM acquisition of Cobham AvComm + Wireless, Atmel’s $3.6Bn sale to Microchip, and APT’s sale to MasterCard. Previously, he advised on Avago’s acquisition of LSI, the split of SAIC and Leidos, the sale of CompuCom to Thomas H. Lee Partners, financings for Palo Alto Networks and Red Hat, and Eastman Chemical’s acquisition of Solutia.

Ran is originally from Beijing and Toronto. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s dual-degree Jerome Fisher (M&T) program, receiving degrees in Finance and Computer Science and Engineering.
